Introducción
Hordenine (N,N-dimethyl-4-hydroxyphenylethylamine) is a natural phenethylamine compound that occurs in different plants, notably barley grass.[1] It is structurally related to the amino acid tyramine.[1] Methylation of tyramine creates N-methyltyramine and Hordenine.[1]
This supplement works primarily through the release and protection of norepinephrine, much like other weight-loss supplements.[2] This would explain the benefits of increased metabolism and energy, as well as the decrease in appetite which is apparently a result of slowed digestion.
Users supplement Hordenine for three main effects: fat loss, appetite control, and energy. It is used in many bodybuilding pre-workout stacks for its synergistic effects with PEA.

WHAT is the safety profile on hordenine? Up to 100mg is safe. It will make you high at that dose. I suggest taking it with food and only 50mg at a time.
Safety
Hordenine did not affect vole diet intake, weight gain, or rate of mortality. Voles fed hordenine developed kidney lesions and glucose was detected in the urine of 62% of these animals.

While this combination may appear to be good, its supplementation does have a couple of drawbacks. Both Hordenine and PEA are known to have poor bioavailability, which means that some of the effects reported by users may just be placebo. Users who have tried taking an inordinate amount of PEA did report of experiencing a “high” that lasted only for 30 minutes.
